The idea behind this blog is to have an area where staff and pupils at KGS can show some of the work they have been doing and swap good ideas, websites, essays etc with other schools in Scotland. This blog is to start discussion and to swap ideas on the teaching of history, Geography and Modern Studies
I'm currently Principal Teacher of Social Subjects at Kirkwall Grammar School. The Department has 5 members of staff and we teach History, Geography and Modern studies from S1 to S6. I began teaching in Harris Academy Dundee in 1994 before moving to Firrhill High School in Edinburgh in 1997. I took up my post in KGS in 2003
